What is the source for your offender information?

Our information comes from the National Sex Offender Registry which aggregates offender information from all 50 state and US territory registries.

How many offenders are you tracking?
Currently, there are over 530,000 individual offenders in the database with over 640,000 locations for those offenders. Some states provide both a residential and employment address.
How often is your information updated?
Our processes run every night. A complete reload of our database takes about 3 weeks.
Why does my search show multiple offenders at the exact same location?

Some addresses cannot be precisely geocoded and are placed at the center of their ZIP code as a fallback. This is a known limitation we are actively working to improve.

Is the information always current?

We display the most recent data from our last nightly update. However, state registries vary in how quickly they report changes. Always verify critical information directly at NSOPW.gov.

Why is a specific offender not showing up?

Some states have confidential or restricted registries that limit what NSOPW shares publicly. We can only display what is made available to us.

What radius options are available?

You can search within 1, 3, or 5 miles of any location.

Does the app work outside the United States?

No — SensorCircle covers the US and its territories only, which is the scope of the NSOPW registry.

Do I need to create an account to use the app?

No account or login needed to access the app and all of its features.

Is my search history stored or shared?

No, we do not collect, store or save your search history. Our privacy policy can be viewed here.

Is SensorCircle affiliated with law enforcement or the government?

No — we are an independent app that presents publicly available government data in a more accessible format.

What should I do if I believe information is incorrect?

You should contact the state sex offender registry for that particular offender. They are the owners of the information and are the only ones who can change it.

Is the app free?

Yes! SensorCircle is provided as a public safety service and is free to the public.
